Little bird and his big meal

Little bird and his big meal

I was driving just now

An ordinary drive on an ordinary day

But as I witnessed "this", I found it nothing but extraordinary

A very little bird, so little, that he was probably smaller than the size of my palm

He was brown with little dark brown and white lines, and he was really cute

There was a scrap of food in the middle of the street, perhaps it was a piece of bread

There were a number of cars driving at the time, some going north, while others heading south

Inspite of the cars, this little tiny bird managed to take the risk, a big risk

As if  it was a calculated move, he waited until there was no car on that lane, and quickly he grabbed what looked like a big piece of bread (for a very little bird)

He grabbed the big piece of bread with his little itty beak and hastily flew up into the air to avoid the incoming car

He flew until he found a shady area on the grass, beside a big tree

I saw all this within the span of seconds

But these seconds became so memorable and I just had to write about it

What seemed so ordinary was nothing but extraordinary

He took a risk, for his Survival

He took a risk, in the midst of skyscraper monsters, that for us are just  c a r s

He took a risk, not knowing if he would make it on the other side

But he did make it, and his serene accomplished look within his little kind little existence, as he peacefully sat beside his big feast, like a King with a Crown

The best kind of King is he who is kind

The best kind of Queen, is she who understands struggle

The best kind of King is he who is too humble to ever need to call himself King

The best kind of Queen is she who perseveres

A kind soul reminded me yesterday that to persevere, even during the most trialing times, is a wisdom worth sharing, but most importantly, overcoming

She reminded me that we can

That we have the ability to go beyond all things, even the scary ones

We all go thru our own trials and tribulations.

So many that sometimes it's too many to count.

And the trials sometimes multiply within the complexities of mind.

The hardships are many and the heart is  o n e

The heart sees it all and it can breathe this body  l o v e

This body within deserves love

It deserves the respect for our heart to be present with it

To offer it solace

To offer it grace

To sit with it during times of turmoil, especially turmoil

And to smile with it, when playing in the sun

The sun rises again

And the little bird, content after his special little meal is fulfilled with the sun, and within its rays

The rays the sun

We receive its love

The sunflowers face the sun

And we welcome another day

We bring forth an opportunity to share love within and throughout

While we carry another breath

That little bird surely opened my heart

And instilled in me the power to move mountains

He moved mountains today

And just like my friend said

So can we
